LimeSuitemini Quicktest failure

Hello,

I am using Ubuntu 18.04 with the latest version:
But the LMS7002M Test failt sometimes and the RF loopback failt every time

What can be the cause?

I am using a HP Z400, PCI USB3 card, the Limeminisdr is connected to an USB 3,0 HUB, I change this HUB, the error is the same.

@Zack, thoughts?

Do you have a chance to test it using direct connection to USB3 port? I mean not using PCIe card and USB Hub?

No, there is no native USB3 at these Workstation. If I use USB2 front, I didn’t get the LMS7002M Test FAILED anymore (10 test), but the RF- loopback failure is still active (using USB2 backsides is the same issue).

If I use GQRX or Cubic SDR with the SDR I I didn’t get a waterfall from the real world (I have two other SDR and some rf measurement equipment).

Hi @dl2fzn,

Arrange RMA with Crowd Supply, please. Sorry for inconvenience.

How do I go about getting an RMA or what ever, my new LimeSDR is dead too. Same problem as above, quickest fails out of the box :frowning:

Help if someone can pls.

Nothing from here or Crowd Source??? WTH? Board fails test, but every 3 or 4th time, it will pass - weird. BUT no help for anywhere, frustrated.

Your board is not dead. RF loopback parameters are on the edge and depends on temperature.

Ok @Zack. TY Curious, would that change the response of the board? I have yet to get a good signal, tried the lower (88.9 - 100 Mhz) FM freq. (have read here that that may not be a good test, as a mod is required for rx… ) and then moved to the higher freq (300 - 500 Mhz) and I am still not able to get a good signal… I have tried 3 or 4 different antenna as well.

If temp is affecting the test, then I’ll see what I can do to cool down and test again. BUT why can’t I get a good RX? maybe I’m not set up right? OR is that too affected by the temp?

ADVICE?

What port are you trying to use for Rx? From the test it look like you might have problems with RX1_H port.
Test results for CH1: TX_1->LNA_W (TX2_1 -> RX2_W) are on edge so it may fail because of temperature or connected cable.
However, CH0: TX_2 -> LNA_H looks suspicious as it detects highest harmonic at DC, while it should be at 5MHz. The same TX port (TX1_2) is used in the fist RF test and it passes, so your RX1_H may not be working correctly.

Ok… not sure I understand what is going on with ‘on the limit’ stuff, but here I just ran the test again… cold LimeSDR-USB and no antennas connected (same as before) and it passes… maybe this verifies that it runs HOT?? BUT still does not address the the RX issue.

To answer @IgnasJ, I am using RX1w, I switched the connection on the board… and still no RX… well not no RX, but there is no signal above the noise. SO I must be doing something wrong, OR there is an issue OR a combination…

I appreciate the input / advice here… and any further assistance would be welcome to get me going. TY
