Clock Difficulties

Hello,

I am working on a group project in a class and we are trying to replicate this vdieo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLFrr3Vm-AY

However, we do not have the digital interface board to supply clock. We are using a function generator at 20Mhz instead of the 30.72Mhz used in the video. In the software provided for the Myriad Board (ctr_6002dr2) we have set the reference clock to 20Mhz and are using the 2.14Ghz for RxPLL and TxPLL.

Following the set up with the exception of uploading the settings for the clock synthesizer (2:42 in the video) we are not getting any audio. what is the purpose of the file containing the settings for the clock synthesizer S15356? I figured since we are manually configuring our clock this is not needed.

Tips or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Side note: we are using an Arduino for our Serial-SPI interface and the Register Tests yield these results:

How many boards do you have in you hands? In youtube video, they were using two boards. So clock generator (Si5356 chip) is used to generate reference clock for both boards.

You register test is not passing 100%: “Some problems with VTUNE registers:…” Most likely, this indicates problems with you reference clock. Some hints to check:

Clock provided to Myriad board is to low in frequency. See this [link], PLL Reference clock, page 2.
Check if Myriad RF board is ready to work in Standalone mode. See this [link], section "3.8 Standalone Mode", page 23.
Check if signal level applied to MyriadRF board is not to low. Usually +10 dBm should be enough.

That should help to prepare the Myriad board for transmission.

Hello,

I’m working on the my Myriad-RF with the LMS6002DF, digital interface board and the FPGA DEO-Nano development kit,

my SPI communication is selected via the FPGA option

in my digital interface i don’t have a TXCO to generate a CLK_TCXO clock, and i don’t know if my SI5356 generate me the 30,72 Mhz frequency to my myriad board.

when i test my register is not passing 100%: "Some problems with VTUNE registers :
