I am attempting to transmit on a 7.5 MHz center frequency ( fc ). I want 3 MHz bandwidth so the frequency will modulate between 6 MHz and 9 MHz.
The slowest speed for the SXT VCO is 30 MHz. This is above my desired 7.5 frequency. Here is the slowest VCO wave form. It is 33.3ns at 2.0-volt scale.
The NOC (TxTSP FCW) is capable of the 7.5 speed, but its output is mixed with VOC LO in the RF front end. This creates the wave form seen below. It is combination of 30 and 7.5, and the signal has been attenuated to 40-millivolts scale. This is not the form I want.
Dr. Webster tells us to get frequencies below 30 MHz to use interpolation. He states a combination of upsampling and filtering will get my desired results. I have selected upconvert CMIX on the TxTSP tab. I also set the GFIRs as a low-pass filter for 9 MHz on this same tab. I am unsure if upconvert is the same as upsampling .
I started with the example.ini file provided with Lime Suite GUI. I changed the VOC, NOC and GFIRs as stated a above. I have saved the configuration and uploaded for review. Please explain to me how to get the desired FMCW signal that I desire.

Well if you keep it up you’re going to attract attention you do not want. You cannot just make all that noise there! In the US you can be fined up to $25,000 . So you’re welcome. I’m not trying to get into a pissing match but you are wrong about several things. To “transmit” is to send signals in the air. Signals can get in to the air even without an antenna depending on shielding and decoupling being neglected. The Federal Communications Commission regulates radio, telephone and Internet. If you are transmitting as you say you cannot do that there. Clearly you are not licensed because you are crossing commercial and amateur bands as well as using more bandwidth than anyone is allowed in those frequencies except possibly FCC Part 15 devices. You may be surprised to know that 1.2 watts the Lime can produce at those frequencies can potentially travel hundreds of miles. Further there are volunteer teams that WILL hunt you down and warn and or report you to the FCC. Willfully continuing constitutes multiple crimes in the USA. So get your story straight if you continue to transmit as you have described. It really depends on if you cause interference but what you described is exactly that. Best wishes.

Just to clear a few things up:
If someone mentions a frequency which happens to be licensed under some condition or other, please do not immediately assume that a) they intend to freely radiate on that frequency and b) that if they do, they do not have the right to. There are 1,001 — actually, probably a lot more — cases where you might want to generate a carrier on some frequency or other, with a perfectly valid use that does not involve transmission in free space.
As an aside, none of our SDRs produce a transmit output of anything like this. LimeSDR USB output at 7.5MHz is around a few dBm.

@andrewback thank you for clarifying. Not enough power to likely bother anyone. I thought the Lime had a bit more power from my reading months back. That would explain a failed experiment. I now realize that I was looking at he output of the LimeRFE product and got those confused with the LimeA quite some time ago.
Cable modems are a common example of closed systems that operate at lower frequencies. Unfortunately closed systems leak. And some aren’t shielded well at all like DSL and powerline adapters. Many items cause noise due to non enforcement of regulations and global markets with many poor quality electronics. I’m not sure this applies to the Lime much though. Decoupling the USB cable and power input with ferrite beads does greatly reduce signal noise on the receive of it though.

Thanks for your help. The new INI file generates a 7.5 MHz signal. The 30 MHz VCO signal has been greatly attenuated and it appears as noise on the 7.5 sinewave. See the attached scope shot.
I am going to increase the VCO frequency to 500 MHz and try the low pass TBB filter to eliminate the VCO.
