Esd supply?

Table 12 of the data sheet uses a type called ‘esd supply’ for some power supply pins. What is meant by ‘esd’?

Thanks,

Eric

I guess ESD means - Electrostatic discharge. Every IC has on-chip protection circuitry to maximize the robustness of the chip to ESD transients at all pins. No exception for LMS6002D, these power supply pins feeds ESD protection circuits.

Hubert,

I thought LMS might have meant electrostatic discharge but never have seen power supply pins labeled that way before. In my experience, power supply pins are not usually ESD sensitive since they have bypass caps and often series beads or inductors feeding into them forming a LPF. This type of LP network is often used to mitigate ESD. Usually ESD is an issue on inputs & outputs of ICs. Must be a difference in terminology between the UK & US.

Thanks,

Eric
