Companion Board normal behavior

We received a new Companion board, and I would like to test it. The first thing I noticed is that the green LED for LMS8_PWR is dimmer than the MCU_PWR LED. When I activate the mixer and/or PA in the software, that LED turns off completely. More importantly, I cannot measure anything meaningful on the spectrum analyzer. Also, when this power-off issue occurs, I can no longer set the LO frequency. The software gives an error saying that setting the frequency failed. Did we receive a defective board?

Hello,

From your picture, I can see that you are using USB as the main DC power source. However, the jumper at JP1 is in its default position, which requires an external 5V DC power supply to be connected to connector J2. This is most likely the reason for the unusual behavior of your board.
If you want to use USB as the DC power source, please reposition the jumper to the middle position on JP1.

If the problem persists, please send us the identification number of your board. It should be printed on a white sticker on the bottom side of the board and should be a number between 1 and 200.

Regards
Branko

Thank you for your answer. Yes after carefully reading the documentation I figured it out. It would be nice to put a quick start card in the package so that someone can get started quickly without having to read the entire document.
