Clock sharing between LimeSDR mini v1.2 and v2.4

Hello,

I recently acquired two LimeSDR Mini boards for a project—one v1.2 and one v2.4. One of the requirements is that both devices share the same reference clock.

After searching through the forum, my understanding is that the best approach is to use the v1.2 as the clock source and feed its reference clock output to the v2.4, since the v2.4 allows reconfiguration to accept an external clock with no soldering.

My question is about the physical connection between them. Since the boards will be placed very close to each other, is it safe to directly connect J9 (REF_CLK_OUT) on the v1.2 to J8 (REF_CLK_IN) on the v2.4 using a short coax cable, without any attenuation?

Or would it be recommended to include an attenuator or buffer stage between them?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
