Books on software defined radio

Hello everyone.

I’m new to SDR. I’ve played a bit with RTL-SDR, also recently I’ve configured LimeSDR + Gqrx + GNU Radio (on Arch Linux). I’ve managed to receive an FM-radio signal, but currently that’s it.

There are lots of blogs, articles and videos about SDR. E.g. recently I’ve finished GNU Radio Tutorial Series on YouTube and now I’m going to watch Michael Ossmann’s SDR lessons. However I still have a serious gap in theory since I’m a software developer (and electronics hobbyist) and I don’t know much about radio and signals and stuff like this, only basic ideas like how to use an oscilloscope and what FFT is for.

Could you please recommend a good book or two that could help me fill these gaps? Unfortunately I’m not too strong in math so I would prefer as little formulas as possible  BTW, I would be grateful for any SDR-related books that in your opinion are worth reading, not only books that have something to do with theory.

I have a copy of this and it’s very detailed without getting into the maths.

Not strictly SDR, but more of a foundation to build up from.
