Synchronizing Clocks

Hello,

A project I am working with requires the synchronization of the clocks of multiple LimeSDR’s. They will be placed at range, so connecting them physically won’t be an option.

What’s the best way to go about developing a share clocking system?

GPS disciplined oscillator (GPSDO), such as:

It rather depends on the exact reasons for needing synchronization.

If you need “phase coherence at a distance”, then you’re in a world of exotics.

I’ve found that two GPSDOs have mutual phase noise that is high enough that applications requiring
long-term mutual coherence don’t work very well. YMMV, etc.
