The LMS7002M component is specified to work up to +85°C. Is this a strict value? Is it possible to have continuous operation for several hours with an ambient temperature higher than +105°C or even +125°C ?
Note: In this configuration, the application can accept a very significant decrease in MTBF !
85°C is the chip temperature under operating conditions,
and not the ambient temperature.
In the data sheet, there are no data for the thermal-resistor between chip and ambient.
So you must hold the chip temperature under 85°C with a fan or heatsink.
if you increase the chip temperature over 85°C then there are
first temporary operating functional errors and then permanently damage the IC
with overheating.
Thank you for your response. In some cases the Tj parameter is not trict and it’s dependent on the Ta parameter and power dissipation. Here I understand that the parameter is strict.
