Newbie: Device not found

I have Ubuntu 20.04. I followed the instructions to build the source. I plugged in the SDR mini, but the utilities don’t find it.

Is this in a VM?

Yes. It is a Parallels VM.

If you search for parallels on the internet in relation to other generic high throughput SDR hardware you mostly see messages like this “For external hardware support, I have had better luck with VMware than Parallels. I think the real solution is to use native Mac applications”.

Accessing high data rate USB hardware from within a Virtual Machine is basically going to cause you new and hitherto unknown problems that other will simply never experience. If you do want the headaches, maybe reach out to the Parallels vendor for support.

EDIT: Here is a post here from ~3 years ago about the woes of parallels.

That make sense. For now I am just trying to run the utilities and get started with Lime SDR.
