Missing R114 on XTRX recommendation

I’m one of the unfortunate ones that received an XTRX with the missing R114 resistor. I am apprehensive about altering the board by bridging the pad because I suspect that any warranty or adjustment through Crowd Source would be void or at least complicated should other problems be encountered with this board. Hence, I will wait until the computer that I will be using it with arrives in early January (hopefully before). I am hoping that the board will work well enough (even if unreliably) to test with the missing resistor. Is this a reasonable course of action? I expect that these production issues will be sorted out in the future. Depending on my experience with the XTRX, I may be ordering more. I am not expecting a smooth quick ride. From my perspective, those working on this project are doing a great job.

Yes, with some systems an XTRX with missing 0R link (for the PCIe RESET line) soldered is detected fine, while with others it can be hit and miss or not detected at all. So you will be fine to just give it a go. Any new orders will have the resistor soldered.
