Mini acrylic case assembly problem

I recently received a LimeSDR Mini and acrylic case but when assembling the case I find that the screening can is taller than the rail thickness and thus prevents the top from seating on to the rails.

This can happen due to tolerances and should not be an issue if you do not over-tighten, since the nuts are nyloc and the case is designed to protect the board from knocks and backs, not ingress protection.

Thanks for the reply.

Despite some reservations about the mechanical and thermal aspects of your suggestion I have carefully assembled it that way since it does at least protect the board. However it was only possible to get a couple of turns on the nuts so the nylon hasn’t really engaged to lock the thread and I don’t yet know if they will loosen.

An additional pair of rails and correspondingly longer bolts would give a better result.
