Long USB3 Cable + Hub = No Go

I used a 10 foot long high quality USB3 cable with a 4-port USB3 hub (non-powered) to place my LimeSDR USB near my indoor antenna farm. Even with nothing else plugged into the hub the LimeSDR was unstable and would only run for a minute or two before freezing up. I removed the USB hub and the Lime SDR runs like a champ, even with max bandwidth of 61.44MHz set in SDR Console.

Just wanted to let people know that long USB3 cables can be successfully used with a LimeSDR USB.

This is the 10’ USB3 cable I used: https://amzn.to/36eqQxe

This is the USB3 hub that didn’t work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0835L5HV6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You need a good quality powered USB3.0 hub. That one will not pass the 750ma needed to be stable.

Even though noting else was plugged in to the hub? The LimeSDR runs fine using the same cable the hub was plugged into.

Correct. The hub was not designed to pass enough power. Try hooking it up with the hub & test voltages in the Lime.
