I had a bit of a look at https://wiki.myriadrf.org/Packaging. Seems like everything needed is there but I still need concise instructions as to which packages I need to install and in what order. That is why I liked Marty’s instructions. Great for my level of knowledge…
Every linux distro have different way of managing there packages i used red hat before then move to suse then open suse till move to ubunto 16.04 lts which is a lot easier than others takes time to learn just keep reading and tons of resource on line.
Hmmm, my head hurts…I think it is time to go to bed and worry about this tomorrow…Thanks for your input…
To all above who offered me assistance, a VERY BIG THANKYOU. I am now up and running. I followed Marty’s instructions with 1 change. I installed Synaptic Package Manager. I was then able to see all the packages that needed to be installed and had no problems getting things up and running.

Thanks for your help Marty, I now have a working Ubuntu 14.04 setup with LimeSuite, GQRX and GNU Radio. I just need to learn how to use the LimeSDR properly now…LET THE FUN BEGIN…
