TVWS Standards

  1. PAWS – RFC 7545 - Protocol to Access White-Space (PAWS) Databases.

  2. IEEE 802.11af Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications.] Enhancements to the IEEE 802.11 physical layers (PHYs) and medium access control (MAC) sublayer to support operation in the white spaces in television bands. It allows WLAN operation in the TV white space spectrum.

  3. ETSI EN 301 598. White Space Devices (WSD); Wireless Access Systems operating in the 470 MHz to 790 MHz TV broadcast band; Harmonised Standard covering the essential requirements of article 3.2 of Directive 2014/53/EU. Specifies technical characteristics and methods of measurements for TV white space devices (TVWSDs) controlled by a TV white space database (TVWSDB) and which operate in the TV broadcast band 470 MHz to 790 MHz

  4. ECMA-392 (2nd Edition / June 2012) MAC and PHY for operation in TV White Space. This Standard specifies a medium access control (MAC) sub-layer and a physical (PHY) layer for personal/portable cognitive wireless networks operating in TV bands. This Standard also specifies a MUX sublayer for higher layer protocols. This Standard specifies a number of incumbent protection mechanisms which may be used to meet regulatory requirements.
